‘Duterte Harry’ slams Trudeau for copping out of helicopter deal.
“You jerks,” President Duterte told the Canadian government when Trudeau killed a deal to sell helicopters to the Philippines.
Strongman Rodrigo Duterte, who once said he threw a man out of a helicopter, blasted Canada after it decided to stop a $233-million deal to send 16 Canadian-built helicopters to Manila.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau scotched the sale after being told the helicopters would be used by police and military forces to hunt down terrorists — and Trudeau feared that could violate human rights.
“My God, you Canadians, how stupid can you get? That’s why we bought the helicopters,” Duterte said. “Our citizens are joining ISIS so we have every right to kill our citizens because we do not want to destroy the community with apathy.”
The Philippines is in a life-and-death battle with militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq that have infested the country.
The war reached a peak in May of 2017 in the city of Malawi when Philippine government troops engaged in a furious battle with the terrorists.
The five-month siege — the longest urban battle in recent Philippine history — claimed tens of thousands of lives.
Duterte has put Trudeau in his place before. When the super liberal PM questioned Duterte’s brutal war on drugs, the strongman shot back, “I will not answer to any bullshit, especially foreigners. Lay off.”
Other leaders have been hit by his bullseye barbs. Duterte once referred to President Obama as a “son of a whore.” And he called Kim Jong-un a “son of a bitch.”
