An upstaged Kim Jong-un declares he’s on “the brink of a war” with America…
…while Vladimir Putin tells Trump: ‘You’ll need to get through me’ if you attack Syria again!
Putin said the airstrike was an “illegal act of aggression” and ordered a Russian battleship to position itself between American warships and the Syrian runway that was hit. The U.S. battleships fired 60 tomahawk missiles at al-Shayrat military airfield at 8.45 p.m. EDT Thursday.
Trump said the airfield was used to store toxic weapons and was the base for the Syrian planes involved in Tuesday’s Sarin attack. The atrocity, committed by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, killed more than 80 people, including many children, and injured many more.
“Even beautiful babies were cruelly murdered in this barbaric attack,” Trump said.
In a phone call to Moscow a half-hour before launching the airstrike, the U.S. told Russia of its intentions. The U.S. attack left nine dead and many wounded, and severely damaged the Syrian airbase.
