Haley to UN: You will rue the day!

The United States will not be told by any country where we can put our embassy.”

America’s Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley threatened to cut off multi millions of dollars in funding to the UN in retaliation to the resolution condemning President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

“The United States will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in the General Assembly for the very act of exercising our right as a sovereign nation,” Haley tokd the assembly in New York on Thursday.

“We will remember it when we are called upon to once again make the world’s largest contribution to the United Nations and we will remember it when so many countries come calling on us, as they so often do, to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit,” she warned.

The resolution, which passed 128-9, was sponsored by Turkey and Yemen and comes after the U.S. vetoed a similar resolution at the Security Council. The U.S. does not have veto power at the General Assembly.

Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Croatia and Latvia defied the European Union members by abstaining to vote to condemn Trump’s decision, as did Canada

Haley’s remarks came the day after President Trump also warned the “nations that take our money and vote against us.”

“They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars then vote against us, well we’re watching those votes,” he said. “Let them vote against us; we’ll save a lot. We don’t care.”
