Durbin’s full of it

The consensus: You can’t trust a word this Trump-hating Dick says.

The Democratic minority whip from Illinois, Sen. Dick Durban, claimed President Trump referred to Haiti, El Salvador and certain African countries as shitholes during a bipartisan meeting on immigration in the Oval Office on Thursday.

Two senators in that meeting, Sen. David Purdue (R-GA) and Tom Cotton (R-AR), disputed Durbin’s account.

Purdue said Trump did not used the phrase “shithole countries.”  He called Durbin’s account a “gross misrepresentation,” adding that it was “not the first time we’ve had a gross misrepresentation by that individual.”

“I didn’t hear that word either,” Cotton said. “And I was sitting no farther away from Donald Trump than Dick Durbin. I know what Dick Durbin has said about the president’s repeated statements is incorrect.”

Former Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), said on “The Ingraham Angle” Friday night that Durbin’s account should be viewed with great skepticism.

“It’s the only thing they have,” said Chaffetz, now a Fox News analyst. “Look, there were six members of Congress in that room. There was only one Democrat. And only the Democrat is saying that this happened. Dick Durbin has a history of doing this. He’s used this card on Republicans before and was absolutely wrong.”

I’m sure Trump did use the word shitholes, because those places are shitholes and Trump’s a man who tells it like it is. No bullshit with Trump.

Not that any of this matters. Trump-hating Durbin says one thing, the Republicans say another thing.

But in the end, who cares? Or to phrase it in the prevailing vernacular: Who gives a shit.
