Trudeau comes to the White House bearing gifts for Trump
At the round table, Donald Trump welcomed Justin Trudeau and pointed out a picture of himself with Trudeau’s father, Pierre, taken at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in 1981:
“I am honoured to be here with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and whose father I knew and respected greatly. He gave me a picture of myself and his father. A great picture.”
Trudeau also gave Trump a piece of masonry from the Canadian Parliament’s West Block building that contained stone from an Ohio quarry.
But it was Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, who stole the show by spearheading a joint initiative, proposed by Trudeau, to empower female business leaders.
